Ray Eugene Manley, 90, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, in Palm Coast, Fla.

He was born Nov. 4, 1918, in Bucyrus, son of William Jackson and Leslie Faye Hinkle Manley.

He served in the Army during WWII and later in the Naval Reserve. He spent his career with the Postal Service and was the assistant postmaster in Lanham, Md. He worked 16 years for the Dart Drug Corporation before retiring to Palm Coast, Fla., 25 years ago.

He was an avid wood craftsman and painter. He was a member of the American Legion and life member of the VFW. He was a Washington Redskins fan and loved Snoopy.

Survivors include his son, Bill; two daughters, Leslie Scott and Susan Walls; five step-children, Wayne, Theresa, Barbara, Betty and Cindy; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial services are 11 a.m. Saturday, April 3, at Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Wesley Wallace officiating. Visitation is 10 a.m. until the service. Cremains will be buried in Emory Cemetery.
