Mr. Charles Rex Elliott, 44, of Cabool, Missouri, passed away at 9:35 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2009, at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield, Missouri, as a result of injuries received on April 22, 2009.

He was born on September 29, 1964, the son of the late Donald and Isabell (Nettles) Elliott of Cabool.

Rex's main interest and hobby in life was vehicles. He spent many hours talking shop with family and friends. During his life he worked as an auto mechanic, a welder and in the auto body field. Rex loved spending time outdoors and his son, Ryan, was the center of his world. They had been working on a vehicle for Ryan, as he is ready to get his driver's license. Rex also enjoyed spending time with his son, Nathan, and they hung out together every chance they had.

He attended Cabool Schools and later in life received his G.E.D.

Rex was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents; and a sister, Margaret Smith.

He is survived by his sons, Ryan Elliott of Buffalo, Missouri, and Nathan Jarrett of Cabool; his siblings, Kimberly Elliott, Donna Jones and Donald Elliott, Jr., all of Cabool, Glenda Sue Nettles of West Plains and John Elliott of Atchison, Kansas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Miller Cemetery near Elk Creek, Missouri, with Pastor Jeremy Barnard of Long Lane, Missouri, officiating. Pallbearers were Ryan Elliott, Nathan Jarrett, John Elliott, Jim Nettles, Kirk Nettles and Brad Smith. Interment was in Miller Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.

Memorial contributions may be made to Miller Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
