Keith M. Siegrist, 38, Lohman, Mo., passed away on February 12, 2008. He was born March 31, 1969, in North Kansas City, Mo., the son of Gary and Sharon K. (Merrill) Siegrist. He was united in marriage in 1996, to Tammy Van Hove and to this union was born two sons, Zachary Ryan and Nathaniel Merrill Siegrist.
Keith attended high school in Olathe, Kan. and art school in Minneapolis, Minn., before attending optical school in San Francisco, Calif. Keith was an optician and manager with Gerry Optical in Independence, Mo. He was a talented optician and enjoyed helping people see better, whether they were customers or just acquaintances. Over the years Keith worked as a manager in retail sales as well and he declined many career advancements in order to keep his family in a small town setting.
He loved the outdoors and any free time was spent with his sons, Zach and Nate, camping, fishing and gigging for frogs. He also enjoyed cooking, gardening and was an avid woodworker. He loved being with his family and enjoyed family reunions with his aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy; his two sons, Zach and Nate; his parents, Gary and Sharon Siegrist, Ozark, Mo.; two brothers, Kent Siegrist and his wife Julianne, Eagan, Minn. and Kurt Siegrist, Wichita, Kan.; two nieces, Ariel and Allison; two nephews, Dale and Cody; his paternal grandmother, Mary Johnson, Willow Springs; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
A special gathering of family and friends will be held from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, February 21, 2008, with memorial services following at 7 p.m., in JD.Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville, Mo. The family request memorial donations be made to the Christian County Relay For Life, 3322 S. Campbell, Springfield, Mo 65802.
