George W. Bray, 82, died April 10, 1971 at the Dunklin County Memorial Hospital in Kennett, Mo. He was born August 14, 1888 in Pontotoc County, Mississippi.
A retired farmer, Mr. Bray was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cass Bray. He was united in marriage to Dollie Stewart, who preceded him in death March 29, 1968.
He was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Services were held Monday, April 12, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Armon Srum of Cardwell officiating.
Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery at Steele, John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
He leaves eight sons: Lavell, Steele; Huron, Rives; Vernon, Lexington, Tenn.; Ross, Ferguson, Mo.; Lano, St. Charles, Mo.; Bill, Lakeland, Fla.; George G. Aurora, Mo., and Winnith, St. Louis. He leaves a sister, Mrs. J.W. Zachery of Houlka, Miss.; 41 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
Pallbearers were Lawrence Dixon, Bobby Hicks, Ralph King, Thomas Atkinson, Cecil Robinson, and Doug Avery.
