Funeral services for Marine Pvt. Danny Lynn Shuburte were held Monday, January 3, at 3:00 p.m., at the German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel in Steele. Rev. Charles Peck officiated.
He was born February 17, 1964, at Denton, and died January 1, 1983, at the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti at 18.
He leaves his mother, Mrs. Betty Shuburte Talbert of Malden; His father, Leslie Rorie of Steele; Five sisters, Charlene Calvert of Watervliet, Michigan, Edith Brown of Elgin, Illinois, Shirley Brown and Linda and Brenda Shuburte, all of Malden; Five brothers, Dennis Shuburte and Herman Shuburte, both of Elgin, Billy Shuburte of Blytheville, Richard Shuburte of Steele, and Sam Shuburte of Benton Harbor, Michigan; One half-sister, Betty Bolden of Springfield, Missouri; and Three half-brothers, Cleatus Rorie of St. Louis, and Larry and Lloyd Rorie, both of Steele.
Pallbearers and Military Honors were provided by the U.S. Marine Corps, Millington, Tennessee.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
