Derrell Lee Swartz, 19, son of Harry and Vernetta (Aldridge) Swartz, was born Sept. 24, 1958 in Tyrone, Mo. and passed away June 11, 1978 in Hanford, Calif.
Survivors are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Swartz of Houston; one brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Gloria Swartz of Anaheim, Calif., one paternal grandmother, Fern Martin of Yukon, one niece and nephew, and his fiancee, Carrie Sewald of Licking.
Darrell spent his entire childhood in the Tyrone community and attended Tyrone elementary school. He was a 1976 graduate of Houston High School and employed at the time of his death with Fine Construction Co. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 28 at 2 p.m. in the Souls Harbor Church, with the Rev. Bythel Friend officiating. Burial was in the Tyrone Cemetery under the direction of the Evans Funeral Home.
