John Lee Vivone, a long time resident of Willow Springs, unexpectedly passed away while at his home Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008, due to natural causes. Born to John and Elizabeth Vivone on June 22, 1954, in San Antonio, Texas, he was 54 years old. Although John was born in Texas a state which he dearly loved, he spent most of his childhood years growing up in Willow Springs, where he attended the local schools. He was a graduate of Willow Springs High School, class of 1972. He was a member of the Willow Springs Masonic Lodge and a member of the Angus Cattle Association. John was described as a hard-working man who has worked numerous jobs throughout his life, especially in the field of construction. However, he mostly enjoyed working on his farm raising cattle. He loved the farm life and all that it afforded him, where he could be out in the country enjoying the outdoors. John also enjoyed hunting and fishing. But most of all he loved spending time with his son, Josh, whether it be arrowhead hunting or working on his truck. Any and all time spent with his son was what brought him the greatest joy. John will be missed by family and all who knew him. John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son, Joshua L. Vivone of Rolla, Mo., and his brother, Jim H. Vivone of Willow Springs. Funeral services for John will be held Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Willow Funeral Home located at 106 E. Third Street in Willow Springs. Interment will follow Wednesday's service at the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery in Pomona. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home.
