Mr. James Abraham Logan, 68, of Springfield, Missouri, and formerly of Cabool, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Springfield.
He was born on April 24, 1941 in Knox, Kentucky, the son of William L. and Vessie (Goodin) Logan.
He later moved to Cabool where he met and married Lona Mae. He worked at Smith Sawmill and the flea market in Cabool. Shortly after Lona Mae passed away he moved to Springfield to live with his stepson , Elmer Lee Compton, and his family.
James was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lona Mae; and a stepson, Paul Pippen.
He is survived by his stepson, Elmer Lee Compton and wife Patsy; four grandchildren, Erika and husband Mike and their children, Jasmine and Kayla, Kimberly and husband Josh and their children, Briona and Jacob, Jimmy Underwood of Wichita, Kansas, and Bradley Compton of the home; a stepgrandson, Rodney Harrison and wife Lauren and their sons, Kyle and Josh, of Cushing, Oklahoma; a stepgranddaughter, Debbie Spencer and husband Leonard and their children, Chris, Dillon and Heather, all of Yale, Oklahoma.
James was well liked by everyone. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him.
Graveside services were at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2009, at Cabool Cemetery with Bro. Bob Martin officiating. Interment was under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
