Patrick Dennis McCarty, 57, of Blytheville passed from this life on Jan. 20, 2011 at St Bernard Hospital in Jonesboro.

Born in Birmingham, Ala. June 6, 1953, he was lovingly raised by parents, Vaughn J. and Mary Maher McCarty. A retired MSGT of the United States Air Force, Patrick served his country honorably during Vietnam and Desert Storm in Iraq. A member of the Holland Baptist Church, Patrick was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who prior to disability loved outdoor activities, such as fishing, camping, sightseeing and traveling. Later due to his limitations he acquired new found interests, such as spending time on the computer. His knowledge was such that he could actually build a computer from "the ground up."

Although his disability limited him, he still loved to travel as often as possible. McCarty's parents; brother, Timothy McCarty and mother in law, Rubye Mae Kelley Rucker preceded him in death.

His wife, Kim Rucker McCarty, Gosnell; children, Alicia Jacoby and Christopher Thompson, Okinawa; grandchildren, Annelise, Elijah, Morgan "MoMo" and Aaron Thompson all of Okinawa; brothers, Bill and Euwanna McCarty, San Antonio, Texas, Michael McCarty, Denton, Texas, David and Diane McCarty, Littleton, Col.; sisters, Nikki and Jerry Wellner, Shady Shores, Texas, Cheri and Gary Bancroft, The Colony, Texas, Kathy Evans, Des Moines, Iowa; father in law, Jimmie Rucker, Gosnell; in laws, Lynne and Thomas Doucette, Steele, Mo., Jimmie Rucker II, Gosnell; and a host of nieces and nephews survive him.

Funeral services are Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Holland Baptist Church in Holland, Mo. with Reverend John Dunavant officiating with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
