Mr. Bobby E. Hicks, Sr., of Oakdale, IL departed this life at his residence in Oakdale on Friday, April 3, 2015 at 9:09 P.M. He had attained the age of 79 years, 8 months and 16 days.

Mr. Hicks was born on July 17, 1935 at Holland, MO, the son of Clarence and Nona (Jackson) Hicks. He was united on marriage to Ruth Ann Crawford on October 27, 1953 at Kennett, MO and she survives his passing.

Bobby worked as a repair man for General Motors for 28 years till his retirement. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Red Bud, IL. Bobby loved woodworking and he enjoyed collecting die cast automobiles.

Also surviving his passing are his four children, Bobby Hicks, Jr. and special friend Jackie Bailey of Harrisburg, IL, Ricky Hicks of Oakdale, IL, Reggie Hicks and wife Serena of Red Bud, IL and Lisa Carns of Coulterville, IL; two brothers, Donald Hicks and wife Renee of Franklin, KY and Jeffrey Hicks and wife Judy of Red Bud, IL; three sisters, Francis Powell of Steele, MO, Brenda Davis and husband Perry of Perryville, MO and Linda Davis and husband Larry of Bowling Green, KY; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer (Aaron) Reeb, Amy Musielak, Christopher Hicks, Steven (Erica) Hicks, Chapen (Dawn) Miller, Justin (Nicole) Hicks, Jordan (Jennifer) Hicks, Phillip Hicks, Monica (Dallas) Beaty, Jamey (Misty) Carns and Nathaniel Carns; 14 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Floyd, Thomas and Elbert Hicks; two sisters, Necie Sneed and Mary Jane Noble; a grandson, Seth Hicks and a great grandson Blake Keaton.

Friends may call at the Oakdale Village Hall in Oakdale, IL on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and then again on Tuesday from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. at the German Funeral Home in Steele, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at the German Funeral Home in Steele, MO on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 11 A.M. with interment to follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, MO.
