Mr. Richard Henry Wells, 55, of Steele, Mo., passed away July 14, 2014, at his home. Born June 22, 1960, in Hayti, Mo., he was the son of Bobby Joe and Laura Goss Wells, who preceded him in death. A longtime area resident. Mr. Wells was of the Baptist faith and a farmer and enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by one son, Richard Wells II of Hayti; one daughter, LaShondia Parry of Steele; six brothers: Robert Bolan of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Tommy Bolan of Caruthersville, Mo., Donny Bolan of Richland, Mo., Henry Bolan of Caruthersville, Christopher Houston of California and Terry Wells of Hayti; three sisters, Kathleen Jarred of Portageville, Mo., Patricia Hinklin of Tennessee and Doris Crittenden of North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Haylee Eaton and Keandre Spriggs. Mr. Wells also leaves a host of other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Deaton Wells; four brothers, Allan Wayne Wells Joe Dean Wells, Wesley O'Neal Wells and Gary Lee Wells; two sisters: Brenda Lee Wells and Katherine Metz; and one granddaughter, Trinity Eaton.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 18, at the Cottonwood Baptist Church in Cottonwood Point, Mo., with Bro. Nick Moody officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele, with Faith Funeral Service of Manila, Ark., in charge of arrangements. The family received visitors Thursday, July 17, at the church. Pallbearers were Brandon Miller, Terry Wells, Frank Parry, Jimmy Parry, Terry Walker and T.J. Jarred.
