Virgil Hahs, Steele businessman and farmer, died September 10, 1974 at the Veterans Hospital in Memphis. Born August 6, 1913 at Marble Hill, Mo., he was 61.

In addition to farming, Mr. Hahs was a MFA Insurance agent in Steele.

He was the son of the late Conrad A. and Emily Linebarger Hahs.

He was a veteran of World War II.

On November 22, 1940 he was married to Jackie Taylor at Marion, Ark.

Services were held Thursday, September 12, 1974 at 2:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele, with the Rev. V. Carl Hickman officiating.

Mr. Hahs leaves his widow, Mrs. Virgil Hahs of Steele; two sons: Virgil Larry Hahs, Jr., of Memphis and Sam Hahs of Memphis; two brothers: Lester Hahs, Flint, Harry Hahs, Memphis; two sisters: Mrs. Gerald Brooks, Steele; Mrs. Reta Hahn, Marble Hill, Mo.; and a niece, Mrs. Mildred Bollinger, Marble Hill.

Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery, John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.

Active pallbearers were Tommy German, Gene Wingfield, Quentin Still, Clarence Poteet, Buck Ballentine, and Paul Fullerton.

Honorary pallbearers were Neal Fullerton and Dee Fullerton.
