Linda Jean Ray, 54, of Steele, died Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2007 at her home.
Born May 6, 1953 in Blytheville, Ark., she is the daughter of James and Norma Jean Ray. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Forbus and Ernest Ray Sr., and one nephew, Ernest Ray Jr.
She graduated from South Pemiscot High School in 1971 and from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Ark., with a degree in business.
Linda worked as a bookkeeper at Mid South Sales in Blytheville. She had also been employed with Wal-Mart for many years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Ms. Ray leaves her parents, James and Norma Ray, of Steele; and Two brothers: Jimmy Forbus and his wife Mary of Caruthersville and Ronnie Forbus and his wife Teresa of Steele.
Funeral services for Ms. Ray were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. Michael Funderburk officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele.
