Elmer "Junior" Ellis Jr., 74, of Saverton, MO, died at 11:47 AM Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Berdette Cook will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Frankford, MO.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
Mr. Ellis, Jr. was born February 29, 1940, in Hannibal, MO. He was raised by his mother, Maggie (Beshears) Ellis Pritchett and step father, Olie Pritchett.
He was married to Robin Hawker on September 12, 1992 in Hannibal, MO. She survives.
Other survivors include 5 children, Greg Ellis (Lee Ann) of Frankford, MO, Susan Pinkerton (Ben) of Oak Grove, MO, Tricia Scholes (Gene III) of Hallsville, MO, Alisia Sebers (Darrin) of Centrailia, MO, Kim Fogle (Ralph) of Centrailia, MO,1 Brother, Michael Ellis of Houston, TX, 1 Sister, Judy Sisson (Bill) of Bowling Green, MO, 14 Grandchildren, Tara, Raini, JaCee, Tanner, Christopher, Gene IV, Rolla, Glenn III, Ryan, Ashley, Tayler, Jarrid, Jordan and Darrin Jr. and 8 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother; Ricky Ellis.
Mr. Ellis worked for the Missouri Highway Department for 42 years as a highway construction inspector and previously worked at Short Line 66. He enjoyed golfing, softball, basketball and fishing. Junior liked watching St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Mizzou football and basketball. Most of all he loved his dogs and enjoyed his grandkids and liked seeing them play ball. Junior always made sure everyone enjoyed themselves and laughed. He was a Presbyterian by faith.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association or Fairview Cemetery in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Charles Gilmore, Eric Kaiser, Steve Spegal, Macy Rodenbaugh, Jim Hansen, and Mike Baxter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Floyd Houchins, Warren Wilson, Jim Walker, Kurt Day, Jim Adams, and Alfred Billings.
