L. PETTIT, 46 YEARS OLD, DIES IN WEST

Had Been Ill for a Year; Body Being Returned Here

Kern L. Pettit, 46, of Reliance, Wyo., died in a Rock Springs, Wyo., hospital Saturday morning after an illness of about one year.

The body will arrive at the Robert B. Davis Funeral Home, 115 W. Jefferson, Tuesday morning. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Mr. Pettit was the son of Ora and Flora (Wellford) Pettit and was born in Van Buren county, Ia., June 3, 1908. He is survived by his wife, Elaine (Black) Pettit, one son, Robert L., two daughters, Dixie Lee and Dorothy Mae, all of Reliance, Wyo., his mother, Mrs. Flora Pettit, and two brothers, Merl and Woodrow, all of Kirksville.

He was preceded in death by a son, his father, one brother, two sisters.
