Funeral services were held Thursday at 2:30 in the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter for Joe Otis McGowen, resident of the Dexter, Mo. community.
Joe was the son of Joe and Ida McGowen and the son-in-law of Ada Hollingsworth of Cooter. At the time of his death he was 45 years, 7 months and 6 days old.
Rev. W.P. Campbell of Dexter officiated at the services and was assisted by Rev. W.E. Hall of Cooter.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Ruby McGowen; one daughter, Carol, one brother, Charles McGowen and two sisters, Mrs. Mencie Hill and Mrs. Okla Hoffman. Pallbearers were Luke Winchester, Mike Lone, Glenn Ayers, Vernon Pixley, Gus Cooper and Virgil Jones.
German Funeral Home had charge of arrangement sand interment was in the Mount Zion Cemetery.
