Dennis Keith Hicks, 54, of Holland, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007 at his home.
Born Dec. 9, 1952 in Blytheville, Ark., he is the son of Frances Lou Burton Hicks and the late George Hicks, who preceded him in death on Nov. 25, 1999. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Suzanne Hicks on March 1, 1994.
He was a graduate of South Pemiscot Schools and he served his country in the United States Army from 1971-1977 with a National Defense Service Medical (Sharp Shooter M 16).
He was a member of the Holland Baptist Church and he was a truck driver.
Mr. Hicks leaves his mother, Frances Lou Hicks, of Holland; one sister, Betty Louise Frazier and her husband, Boyce, of Holland; one brother, George Anderson Hicks and his wife, Marilyn, of Southaven, Miss.; and two nephews and three great-nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Hicks were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Holland Baptist Church with Bro. John Earl Dunavant officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of services.
Pallbearers were Joe Clark, Gary Ozment, Barry Ray, Charles (Buck) Leathers, Brent Howren and Michael Tomlinson.
Honorary pallbearers were Frank Copeland, Allen Owens, Brian Poplin, Greg Handley, Ronnie Bray and Floyd Thompson.
