Calvin Smoot of Clay township, died Monday morning after an illness of ten days. Mr. Smoot was one of the most extensive stock dealers in the county. His excellent qualities as a business man, citizen, father and husband, endeared him to all. He was buried the following Tuesday in the family cemetery near his home.
