Friday, September 9, 1949:
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the German Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 o'clock for Pfc. Leonard Noel, who was killed in action at Reffuveille, France, August 10, 1943. Services will be conducted by rev. Edward Cooper of Cooter. Interment will be at Mount Zion cemetery. Steele Memorial Post No. 7889 will be in charge of graveside services.
Private Noel attended the schools at Holland and Hermondale and at the time he entered the Army was employed at a war plant at Milan, Tenn. He entered the Army in 1942 and was killed in action after serving only a few months overseas.
Survivors include one son, Harry James Noel of Jackson, Tenn., his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floice Noel of Holland; one brother, Ernest Noel of Holland; grandmother, Mrs. Annie Cooper, also of Holland.
