Edward "Ray" McLevain, 56, of Cooter, Mo., died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at the Methodist North Healthcare in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Monday, December 11, 1944 in Helena, Ark., he was the son of the late Hilton Graves and Birdie Glidewell Graves.
Ray was united in marriage to Peggy Ann Porter on April 7, 1962 in Caruthersville, Mo.
He worked in construction and was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. McLevain leaves his wife, Peggy Ann McLevain, of Cooter; Three sons: Eddie Ray McLevain and his wife Roxanne of Cooter, Jeffery Wayne McLevain and his wife Rhonda of Cooter and David Carr of Gosnell, Ark.; One daughter, Brenda VanDyke and her husband Don, of Gosnell; One sister, Ann Jaco of Ashdown, Ark.; One brother, Sonny Linconfelt of Steele, Mo.; and Ten grandchildren: Josh VanDyke, Erika VanDyke, Jeffery Tyler, Katelyn McLevain, Steven McLevain, Amberly Poole, Jonathan McLevain, Brandon Larrow, Ryan Larrow, and Nicholas McLevain.
Funeral services for Mr. McLevain were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 1, 2001 at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. Dave Lewelling officiating.
Burial was at the Mitchell Number Eight Cemetery in Cooter with Bradshaw Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
