Johnny D. Pippin passed away Feb. 27, 2010 following a lengthy illness.

He was born May 8, 1923 in Sparta, Mo. the son of William Roy Pippin and Hazel Elsey (Johns) Pippin. Johnny was united in marriage to Loraine Hodges on April 7, 1945. He cared for and took care of Loraine for most of their fifty years together.

She preceded him in death on June 10, 1995. Johnny worked as an automotive mechanic for most of his adult life. He was a joy to everyone he met and never knew a stranger, his jokes and outgoing personality will be missed by everyone that knew him. Johnny was raised and baptized in the Baptist Faith, but for the last five years has attended the Redeemer Luthran Church with his nephew and his wife Doyle and Lois Smith.

He is survived by his two sisters, Jaunita Hicks of Rogersville, Mo., and Alvenia Smith of Battlecreek, Mich.; a brother, Dewey Pippin of Rogersville, Mo.; and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Walnut Lawn Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Linden Cemetery Ozark, Mo., with Pastor Duane Maas officiating.
