Harold Eugene Lawyer, 84, of Jane, Missouri departed this life into Glory on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas with his loving family by his side.
Harold entered this life on October 20, 1928 in Plainview, Indiana born to the late Nellie (Lawyer) Wantz. He married Jonell McKee on November 11, 1974 at Carson City, Nevada. Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army and United States Navy. Harold worked as a Grocery Store Department Manager for several years. He moved here 30 years ago coming from Sacramento, California. Harold was a hard worker and a loving family man, he also loved his church family. He was a faithful member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jane, Missouri where he served as a deacon. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jonell Lawyer of the home; two sons, Tony DeMartini and wife, Lou Ann, Steve DeMartini all of California; daughter, Lori Griffith and husband Scott of Jane; three sisters, Carol Hoffman of Lodi, California, Martha Martin and Mary McClain both of Elkhart, Indiana; Ten grandchildren, Jeffery Garrett and wife Colleen, Tammy DeMartini, Paul DeMartini and wife Ashley, Anthony DeMartini and wife Kelli, Joseph DeMartini, Marlo Ann DeMartini; Cassie Ball and husband Jessie, Heather Maze and husband Donny, Michael Griffith and wife Bekah and Katie McKibben and husband Thomas; five great grandchildren, Zachery Garrett, Megan Nicole Haley, Sean Garrett and David Garrett; as well as a host of other family, friends and neighbors who will dearly miss Harold.
Funeral services for Harold Lawyer will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jane, Missouri. Pastor J.D. Arnold and Pastor Jim Day will officiate. Burial will follow in the Jane Cemetery in Jane, Missouri. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Jeff Garrett, Zach Garrett, David Garrett, Paul DeMartini, Joseph DeMartini, Anthony DeMartini, Michael Griffith and Kyle Haley. Honorary pallbearers are Sean Garrett, Tucker Ellis, Bill Anderson and Scott Griffith. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jane, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be given to the Emmanuel Baptist Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
