Died, at his home in Neosho, on Friday, September 16, 1898, D. T. Worley, aged 57 years. Many of the citizens in and around Newtonia will be grieved to read this notice as Mr. Worley was a highly respected citizen of this place for a number of years.
He came from near Decatur, Illinois, here, and purchased the 160 acre farm just west of Boone Frost. He sold his farm here and moved to Neosho about ten years ago. He was twice married. His second wife survives him; she has no children of her own, but his first wife left four children, Stella, Nora, D. and Ray, all of whom are alive. Mr. Worley was a veteran of the war.
He leaves $6,000 life insurance. He made his will and left an equal share to his wife and each child. Jas. C. Alexander of Neosho was appointed guardian for D. and Ray. The I.O.O.F. order conducted the funeral services from the Methodist church last Sunday. There was a long procession. The family has the sincere sympathy of this community.
