Bill is the son of John Brownlow Skyles and Elizabeth Angelique (Osborn) Skyles. Bill "Bill Bailey" was married 3 times. He married first Mayme Bell Earp on May 26, 1917 at Newburg, Phelps County, Missouri. They had one son, Ernest William. Later they divorced. He then married a Katherine Kabe in 1928 and they later divorced. He married for a third time to LaPlessa McCay in October of 1942 at Warsaw, Benton County, Missouri.
