Funeral services for Carl Poindexter Holbert of Steele, Route 3, were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, at the Church of Christ in Steele with Mr. Judson Woodbridge officiating.
Mr. Holbert died at his residence Sunday, February 21, at the age of 49. A veteran of World War II, he was the son of Bertha Jenkins Holbert and the late William Oliver Holbert. He was born at Steele January 9, 1922.
Mr. Holbert is survived by his mother; two brothers, Nelson Holbert of Kennett and Lawrence Holbert of Steele; and one sister Mrs. Izora Bond of Deering.
Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Billy Joe Bond, Wayne Bond, James A. Bond, Jessie O. Bond, Jerry Holbert and Bob Bomar.
