***************
Last Thursday morning about 6 o'clock, Isom Nunnery living in the Denton neighborhood, committed suicide by shooting himself with a rifle. It is somewhat difficult to get details as there are so many conflicting stories of the affair, but the best we can learn is that he had become involved in debts which he could not meet and it is said there were also family troubles he could not bear. It is stated that a few minutes before his death he asserted that he had rather die than have someone pay a note for him. Almost immediately afterward he went into an adjoining room, lay down on a bed, opened his shirt, placed the muzzle of the rifle over his heart and discharged the weapon. Hearing the report of the weapon the family rushed into the room and found him still holding the rifle in his grasp, but dead. He had always been counted a good citizen, coming of good family stock, his father being a highly respected minister in the Baptist church. He leaves a wife and several children.
