Funeral services for Joe Weldon, of near Rives, were held Monday afternoon in the German Undertaking Co. parlor, by Rev. H. S. Holley, pastor of the local Methodist Church. Mr. Weldon had been ill for several months. Burial was made in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
He was born July 13, 1874 in Birmingham, Ala. He moved to near Rives about seven years ago, where he engaged in farming.
He passed away at his home Sunday at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 10 days.
The survivors include the wife, Mrs. Lula Weldon; three sons, Lonnie, Buddie and Marcus Weldon; three daughters, Bernice and Mary Weldon and Mrs. Ola Mae Hanner, all of near here.
