Donald Nelson Kimes, 72, son of Elmer Nelson and Laura Evelyn Prine Kimes, was born July 17, 1932, on a farm at Table Rock, Neb. He died April 16, 2005, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
When he was 2, the family moved to Pawnee City, Neb.
He married Lois Marie Arnold May 30, 1951. They had two children.
After June 1973, Mr. Kimes began to travel extensively until June 1980, when he married Barbara Richards Skyles at Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ivan; and one grandson.
Surviving are his wife of the home at Houston; two daughters, Kathi Melton of Nashville, Tenn., and Marshann Money of Willard, Utah; one stepdaughter, Cynthia Haverly of Fayetteville, Ga.; three stepsons, Bob Skyles and David Skyles of Mountain Grove and Steve Skyles of Cabool; one sister, Darlene Carmichael of Cabool; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were April 19 at the Mount Pisgah Cemetery at Cabool with David Skyles officiating under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
