Wanda Joyce (Lay) Smith was born October 7, 1932 at Clear Springs, MO to Roy Ludwin Lay and Nova Belle (Woolsey) Lay. She passed away on May 2, 2007 at the age of 74 years.
Wanda was united in marriage to George Franklin Smith (her cowboy) on October 14, 1950, and to this union three children were born.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Nova Belle, and three sisters, Phyllis, Iris, and Lavon.
Wanda is survived by her husband, George, of Willow Springs, MO; one son, Ronald Smith and wife, Lois, of Union, MO; two daughters, Ronda Labbee and husband, Bobby, of Elk Creek, MO, and Vicki Cooper and husband, Danny, of Willow Springs, MO; four brothers, Ivan, Leonard, Hillard, and Trevis; six grandchildren, Sheila, Elise, Joshua, Daniel, Nathan and Amanda, and five great grandchildren, Adam, Cierra, Dylan and Brett.
Wanda was a wonderful person who was known as "Sugar" to her grandchildren. She was very special to a lot of people and influenced many. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 5, 2007 at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Mountain View, MO at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Van Williams officiating.
Interment was in the Clear Springs Cemetery in Clear Springs, MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral home of Mountain View, MO.
