Funeral services for Rosa Anna Miller, 82, were held Friday, April 28th, in the Elliott-Gentry Chapel at Cabool, with Rev. Gerald Montgomery officiating. Mrs. Miller died April 26, 1978, at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield. She was born in Willow Springs, the daughter of Alexander P. and Margaret C. Garlett. She was a charter member of the Faith and Hope Freewill Baptist Church, later moving her membership to the Willow Springs General Baptist Church. Surviving are one son, Wayne A. Miller of Columbia, MO; three daughters, Anna May Allen of Cabool, Jewel Wagner, Willow Springs, and Naomi Wisdom of Poplar Bluff, MO; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Interment was in Freedom Cemetery.

The Rev. Virgil Orello Miller, son of Mark and Clara Miller, was born April 18, 1894 and died at the St. Francis Hospital in Mtn. View on January 31, 1964 at the age of 69 years 9 months and 13 days. He was united in marriage with Rosa Anna Garlett, February 27, 1916 at Sargent, MO. To this union four children were born. Survivors include one son, Wayne Alexander Mark Miller, Columbia, MO; three daughters, Anna May Allen, Cabool, MO; Jewel Alice Wagner, Willow springs, MO; Bertha Naomi Wisdom, Grand Junction, CO; a brother James F. Miller, Willow Springs, MO; a sister Bertha Elrod, Winfield, KS, & six grandchildren.
He joined the Chapel Hill Church at an early age and later became a minister of the Gospel. He was a charter member and deacon of the Faith and Hope Church. He later moved his membership to Mt. Pisgah Church where he preached his first sesrmon. He was ordained in the Mtn. Grove Freewill Baptist Church, and during his ministry with the Freewills helped organize three churches. In 1941 he joined the Solid Rock Church in the Little Vine Association. He was a moderator and assistant moderator for several years. While with the General Baptist Association he helped organize five churches. At the time of his death he was a member of the Willow Springs General Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held in the Willow Springs General Baptist Church with the Rev. H.G. Montgomery and the Rev. H.A. Higby officiating. Burial was in the Freedom Cemetery under the direction of Elliott-Gentry of Cabool.
