Well Known Civil War Veteran Victim of Effects of Storm
Exposure Brings Complication of Diseases - No Relatives Here Excepting Wife
Exposure during the recent snow and cold weather while already suffering from a complication of diseases caused the death of O. H. S. Kennedy, who passed away at 2 o'clock this afternoon at his home at the corner of Fourth and Fulton streets.
Mr. Kennedy was 73 years of age and for 20 years he has been a well known figure upon the Carthage streets. He is survived by a wife, who is said to be his only living relative in this city, be he has hosts of friends here.
The deceased was an old soldier and a prominent member of the G.A.R. At the last election of officers in that order, Mr. Kennedy was named as a candidate for the officer of post-commander, but refused to even consider taking the office.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.

Members of G.A.R. Have Charge of Services at Cemetery
Funeral services for O. H. S. Kennedy, a well known old soldier who passed away at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon from a complication of diseases, were held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon at the Kennedy residence at the corner of Fourth and Fulton Streets.
Rev. J. D. McCaughtry, pastor of the First Presbyterian churhc, conducted the services at the house and the G.A.R. members had change of the burial in Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were selected from the G.A.R. organization.
