DIED
On Sunday, July 9, 1899, after an illness of three days of appendicitis, little Frank Parker, aged 10 years, 6 months and 18 days, passed to the Great Beyond, fell asleep in Jesus and left a dear mother, father, brothers, sisters and many friends to mourn his loss. the funeral service was held Monday evening and was conducted by J. J. Henry, of Carthage.
So good, so gentle in his ways, Frank was the pet of the family, and loved by all who knew him. His sudden and unexpected death was a severe blow to the family.
His body lies in the cemetery near Jasper school house close to his home and by the old school house he attended while living; while his gentle spirit has gone to god who gave it to come forth from the grave, his body fashioned like unto the glorious body of Christ there to forever dwell where farewells are never spoken and god's own hand wipes all tears from every eye. He cannot come to us but we can go to him.
"Is it a sin to love thee?
When we bend the knee in prayer,
And before a high Omniscience
Our burdened hearts lay bare
On the breath of love to heaven
Ascends thy blessed name
And we plead weak, erring nature
If loving thee be shame,
The father and mother feel very near to their neighbors and friends for their aid and sympathy in this their sore bereavement. J.J.H.
