Funeral services for Jesse Grover Brotherton, 55, Pomona, Mo., were Saturday, April 9, 2011, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Brotherton died at 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at Ozarks Medical Center. He was born Dec. 17, 1955 at Pomona, Mo., to Everett and Ivene Roberds Brotherton. On June 17, 1978, he was married at Phoenix, Ariz., to Sheila Baker. Mr. Brotherton was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army. He owned and operated his own machine shop in West Plains from 1995 to 2004; also, he owned and raced a car at the local racetracks from 1995 to 2004. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Brotherton, of the family home; one son, Michael Brotherton, wife, Samantha, Pomona, Mo.; two grandchildren, Cheyenne and Jesse; one brother, John Brotherton, wife, Sherry, Pomona, Mo.; one sister, Sue Irvin, husband, Gene, Plymouth Meeting, Pa.; his father-in-law, Robert Baker, wife, Thelma, Lawrenceville, Pa.; two brothers-in-law, Robert Baker Jr., wife, Beverly, Dover, Pa., and Peter Baker, wife, Dayna, Lawrenceville, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, one son, Sam Brotherton; one brother, Ray Brotherton; and his mother-in-law, Marjorie Shutter, precede him in death Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial was at Dripping Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Miracle Network and left at Robertson-Drago
