Mrs. Nora M. Batley, 64, of golden City, Mo., formerly of Steele, died July 13, 1969 at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Mo.
Mrs. Batley was born June 10, 1905, in Frankville, Ala., the daughter of Levi and Lottie Goldman.
She was united in marriage to Robert L. Batley at Chatom, Ala., in May, 1924, and to this union were born 12 children. A son, Wesley, preceded her in death.
Services were held Tuesday, July 15 at the Pentecostal Church of God. Rev. Roy Handley officiated, assisted by Rev. Vernon Reese.
Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele with John W. German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Don Callis, R.E. Hewlett, Hubert Morris, Billy Williams, Jesse Akins, and David Davis.
Mrs. Batley leaves her husband, Robert L. Batley of Golden City; six sons: Robert L. Batley, Jr., of Farmington, N.M., Charlie Batley of Augusta, Ga., Clarence Batley, Sheridan, Ark., William Edward Batley, Piggott, Ark., Billy Ray Batley, Fredericktown, Mo., Jimmy Carrol Batley, Webb City, Mo.; five daughters: Mrs. Luvenia Fowler, Steele; Mrs. Marie Wynn, Golden City; Mrs. Nora Lee Carr, Bragg City; Mrs. Arminda Buys, Holland; and Mrs. Pearlie Howell, El Paso, Texas.
She also leaves two brothers and four sisters, 30 grandchildren and other relatives.
