Lester G. Cecil, 79, of Steele, recently at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett. Born Nov. 30, 1909 in Steele, he was the son of Willis and Ada Hopkins Cecil. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Steele and was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Blalock Cecil of Steele; One son, Billy Cecil of Germantown, Tenn.; Two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Phyllis Cecil of Germantown and Mrs. Zela Cecil of Steele; One brother, Chester Cecil of Fenton, Mich.; Two sisters, Mrs. Lorene Majors of Warren, Mich., and Mrs. Alberta Morlan of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; One nephew whom they raised, Bob Reeves of Newport News, Va.; Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lester Dean Cecil.
Services were April 14 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Steele, the Rev. Gene Edwards and the Rev. James F. McCrary officiating, with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, John W. German Funeral Home in charge.

Elizabeth Jane Cecil, 92, of Steele, Mo., died Thursday, September 26, 2003 at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett, Mo.
Born September 22, 1911 in Winona, Miss., she was the daughter of the late Semon Basco Blalack and Lela Pryson Blalack.
She was also preceded in death by a baby daughter, Dorothy; one son, Lester Dean Cecil, and his wife, Zela Cecil; three sisters and one brother.
Elizabeth Jane was united in marriage to Lester G. (Buster) Cecil on November 10, 1928 in Blytheville, Arkansas. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Steele.

Mrs. Cecil leaves one son, Billy Mack Cecil and his wife, Phyllis of Germantown, Tenn.; one sister, Lela Mae Reeves of New Madrid, Mo.; one nephew, Bob Reeves, of Newport News, Va.; five grandchildren: Melissa Summerfield, Kathy Davis, Les Cecil, Jina Shoaf, and Dixie Wiemar; and eight great-grandchildren: Jake Shoaf, Liza Shoaf, Hannah Summerfield, Erin Hawks, Dean Davis, Jake Cecil, Amber Cecil, and Jessica Cecil.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cecil were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Steele with Bro. Jim Mousie officiating.
Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
Pallbearers were Rick Davis, Gordon Summerfield, Les Cecil, Dr. tim McPherson, Rob Pritchett, and Jonathan Wiemar.
