Obituary:

Louie D. Adams of Cabool, Missouri, died at age 70 in his home on Friday June 17th, 2011. Louie was born March 9th 1941 in Cabool to Homer and Myrtle (Hale) Adams. He attended school 12 years at Cabool where he graduated in 1959.

Louie joined the U.S. Navy right after high school and was stationed at North Island Naval Air Station in San Diego, CA. Louie married Donna Smotherman in 1960 and went on to have three children- Michaelle, Dean, and Toby. Louie spent four years in the service and returned to Cabool. He came to know the Lord and was baptized as an adult. He ran Adams Auto Salvage and wrecker service for many years. Louie married Lu (Thomas) Cameron in 1983. Louie and Lu owned and operated Adams Auto Sales. Over the years he bought and sold almost everything you can think of. He sold a lot of cars: from new cars to demolition derby vehicles. “Lu’s Longhorn’s”, was one of his retirement hobbies, buying and selling longhorns with his dog Susie. Louie enjoyed playing all kinds of cards and hosted many games. He loved spending time with Lu, his friends, family, children and grandchildren. He always had a smile and a laugh to share, and usually a list of things to do. Louie’s love and laughter will be greatly missed by all.

Louie was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Myrtle Adams, brother Lloyd, sister Blanche White, son Travis Cameron, and son-in-law Darrell Lee. He is survived by- his wife Lu Adams, sister Beulah Adams of Cabool, children Michaelle Lee of Raymondville, Dean and Pam Adams of St. Louis, and Toby “D.” Martin of Willow Springs, seven grandchildren- Coleman Lee, Denim Lee, Kayla Letterman, Kendra Aldridge, Eddie Cameron, Amelia and Taylor Adams.
