Services for Earnest Owens Scott, 62, of Holland, were held Mar. 29th at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele with the Rev. Glenn Johnson officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
He was born May 25th, 1914 at new Albany, Miss., the son of the late Otto C. and Ollie Stanton Scott. He married Gertrude Jackson in Caruthersville Nov. 11th, 1935. He had been employed by the L. Berry Family for the past 45 years as a farmer and ginner.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Fennell of Steele; one brother, Gassie Scott of LaCenter, Ky.; five sisters, Mrs. Ethel Morgan of Van Buren, Mrs. Mary Clift of Castro Valley, Calif., and Mrs. Lucille Douglas, Mrs. Dorothy Wagner, and Mrs. Lola Wagner, all of Steele; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Richard Jackson, Raymond Jackson, Howard Jackson, Calvin Jackson Jr., Frank Jackson Jr. and Daniel Jackson.

Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon, December 22, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele for Mrs. Gertrude Inez Scott, 65, of Holland. The Rev. Glenn Johnson officiated.
Mrs. Scott was born February 27, 1914 in Arkansas and died December 19 at the Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis.
She was the daughter of the late William and Cammie Mae Burks Jackson.
She was united in marriage to Earnest O. Scott in Caruthersville, Mo., on November 11, 1935. Mr. Scott preceded her in death on March 26, 1977.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Fennell of Holland; two brothers, William Jackson of Miami, Fla., and Les Jackson of Holland; a half-brother, Frank Jackson of Jacksonville, Ark.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Hertie Neeley and Mrs. Mae Roberts, both of Jacksonville, Ark.; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Charles Boone, Tommy Raidt, Gardner Norrid, Jim Norrid, Pete Sandage, and Arthur Davis.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with the John W. German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
