Gynetha Clay Sullivan, 83 of Cabool, MO passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, MO. She was born on November 9, 1927 in Solo, MO, the daughter of Abe Ray and Gladys Mae (Cunningham) McNew.
Gynetha had to walk about a mile to attend Green Hill School and she attended Houston High School graduating with the class of 1945. On Sundays you would find her at the Oak Dale Church; she was Saved at a young age during VBS at Simmons, MO.
Gynetha was united in marriage to the man of her dreams, Orvill Sullivan, Jr on January 14, 1945, to this union they were blessed with three daughters and three sons. She chose to keep the home fires burning and raising her family. She treasured her family, teaching each and every child that they were precious and special. She was always there with open arms to spoil a grandchild, rock a baby or whatever the situation called for; she was the first to tell them about Jesus and if you would ask her she was always “Fine, Just Fine.”
Gynetha was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Jessica; a sister, Arlene Fields and a brother, Dale McNew. She is survived by her husband, Orvill; daughter, Judy Mae Ice and husband, Carl; son, Kenneth Lee Sullivan and wife, Judy Ann; son, David Ray Sullivan and wife, Donna; Jo Ann Schauer and husband, Dana; daughter, Patsy Sue Stoops and husband, Paul Junior; son, Clay Dean Sullivan and wife, Becky; 15 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
