Roy Bill Strong passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013 in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior at his home in Cabool, MO at the age of 79 years and 2 months. He was born on May 13, 1934 in Douglas County, MO the son of John and Pearl (Hall) Strong.
Bill retired from Grisham in 2011 after working there for 14 years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, collecting coins, mowing lawns and puffing his pipe tobacco pipe; like he always said, he didn’t inhale.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Harold Strong, Jake Mullnack, Bernie Strong and Bob Strong; three sisters, Juanita Squires, Melba Honeycutt and Virginia Strong; a daughter, Ade Lou Strong; granddaughter, Trista Cruse; three nieces, Helen Sears, Sandy Wake and Suze Sterner and four nephews, Mike Strong, Roger Sears, Lonnie Mullnack and Danny Mullnack. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Alice of the home; daughters, Billie Jean (Debbie) and husband, Wayne Phillips of Ripley, OK, Robin and husband, Chris Joyce of Cottage Grove, OR, Tammy and husband, Kenny Frame of Elk Creek, MO, Becky and husband Steve Mayberry of Cabool, MO, Lisa and husband, Roger Wake of Cabool, MO, Pam Sharp of Springfield, MO, Rhonda and husband, Denny Stevens of Licking, MO; son, Terry Strong and wife, Denise of Cabool, MO; 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; his brother, Gene Strong and wife, Judy of Elk Creek, MO; numerous nieces and nephews; a special friend, Bonnie Arnold who he had coffee with every morning; as well as many friends, coworkers and neighbors. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
