Maxine D. Godsy, a lifelong resident of the Willow Springs area, has died at 90 years of age, March 20, 2019.
Maxine was born July 4, 1928, a daughter of Carl and Bessie Caton of Hutton Valley. She attended one and two-room country elementary schools and graduated from Willow Springs High School, Class of 1945.
Maxine married Paul Godsy on May 29, 1948, and thereafter resided at Willow Springs. She was mostly employed as a bookkeeper for various manufacturing concerns.
Maxine enjoyed leisure time with her grandchildren, quilting, and the history of the area. She also kept her mind sharp by playing games and working puzzles of all kinds with friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sister, Louise Reed.
She is survived by her sister, Joy (DuWayne) Branscombe of Albuquerque, NM; a daughter, Paula (Dennis) Sisco of St. Joseph, MO; a son, Gary Godsy of Columbia, MO; grandsons, James Sisco of St. Joseph, MO, Joseph (Michelle) Sisco of Blue Springs, MO, and Paul Godsy of Columbia, MO. Further survivors include three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Godsy will be held Monday, March 25, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Willow Funeral Home, LLC, with a visitation immediately preceding from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Pastor Joel Hinds will officiate. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to the Willow Springs Historical Society and may be left at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Willow Springs City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home, LLC. On-line condolences may be left at www.willowspringsfuneralhome.com
