Melba Rose Frame, 83, daughter of John Edward and Sadie Bernice Neel Church, was born Nov. 30,1923, at Mayberry. She died Dec.3, 2006, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield following a lengthy illness.
She married Samuel Paul Frame Sept. 27, 1941, near Tyrone. They had nine children and lived in the Tyrone area except for a short time during World War II, when they lived in Arkansas while Mr. Frame was in the Army.
Mrs. Frame worked at The H.D.Lee factory and Brown Shoe Co. in Houston, retiring in the late '80s.
She was a member of the Tyrone Free Will Baptist Church and the Mary S chapter, Order of Eastern Star in Houston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Carmalee; two brothers, Noah and Francis Marion "FM"; and a great-grandson.
Surviving are her husband of the home at Tyrone; nine children, Gleneta Lane of Mountain Grove, Nelson Frame of Pekin, 111., Murlene Preston of Cabool, Roberta Geisler
and Paula Frame of Tyrone, John Frame of Peoria, HI., Paul "Gary" Frame of East Peoria, El., Carla Dowden of Dawson and Tammy Frame of Elk Creek; three sisters, Evelyn Rust of Cabool, LettySue Horton of North Carolina and Rebecca Yancy of Arkansas; one brother, Charles "CC" Church of Willow Springs; 23 grandchildren, 24 greatgrandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Services were Dec. 6 at the Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home Chapel in Cabool with the Rev. Curtis Dowden officiating. Burial was in the Tyrone Cemetery.
