Thomas Turley Embree, son of James M. and Laura Mahan Embree was born April 12, 1878, at Lebanon, Mo., and died Jan. 3, 1969, at a nursing home in Summersville.
His age at the time of his death was 90 years, eight months and 21 days.
At an early age his family moved to Mayfield, Ky., and as a young man he was engaged in the mercantile business in Opolis, Kansas.
In 1907 he was married to Ethel Redman who died in 1917.
In 1918 he moved to the Ozarks, living in the Big Creek and Tyrone communities. On Feb. 15, 1947, he married Gladys Rensch.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys, of the home; two step-daughters, Mrs. Teresa Rhea of Bethany, Okla., and Mrs. Geraldine Smith of St. Louis.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 5, at the Tyrone Free Baptist Church, Mrs. Sadie Miles officiating. Burial was in the Tyrone cemetery, under the direction of Evans-Elliott of Houston.
