Funeral services for Bessie Madeline Gordon, 95, West Plains, will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 27, 2011 in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon Bible Society and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gordon died 1:10 p.m., Monday, August 22, 2011 in Brooke Haven HealthCare. She was born November 12, 1915 at Bado, Missouri to Henry Dick and Minnie Corbin Ragsdale. On September 28, 1935, she was married to Clinton Edward Gordon who preceded her in death on May 7, 1976. Mrs. Gordon was a school teacher, had been a clerk at Aid's for many years, worked at Boeing Aircraft and owned Biscayne Laundry. She was of the Pentecostal faith and had attended the First Assembly of God Church, Victory Worship Center and Harbor of Hope.
She is survived by her children, Gayle Gordon and Mary, Meriden, Kansas and Gary Gordon and Angie, West Plains; grandchildren, Melanie and Dean Moss, Brenda Evans, Grandon and Marilyn Gordon and Grayson and Rita Gordon; great-grandchildren, Michael and Emily Moss, Tiffany and Ryan Bryce, Melissa Moss, Natosha and Tyler Willhite, Rebecca and Chris Holmes, Justin Moss, Garen Gordon, Blake Evans and Brooke Evans; great-great-grandchildren, Cora Bryce, Noah Holmes, Tegan Willhite, Eden Bryce, Liam Willhite and Maren Moss; her sisters, Fern Fitzhugh, Republic, Missouri, Dorothy Harvey, Springfield, Missouri, Maxine Baty, Tempe, Arizona and Dixie Baty, Mt. Vernon, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Neva Ragsdale, Cabool, Missouri and Dorothy Ragsdale, Houston, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one grandson, Galen Gordon, one infant great-grandson, four sisters, Bea Hardin, Florence McGowan, Leona Cantrell and Elois Dansby and two brothers, Ray Ragsdale and Warren Ragsdale, precede her in death. [ozarkareanetwork.com/obits, Aug 24, 2011]
