Larry Eugene Lutz was born on February 1, 1942, on a farm north of Rock Port, Missouri, to Charles Edward and Mary Elsie Wallace Lutz. He passed away on Wednesday Morning January 7, 2004, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Rock Port.

He graduated from Rock Port R-11 High School in 1961. He married Ronda Haer in August, 1973. To that union two daughters were born, Jaclyn Kaye and Jamie Lynn The couple later divorced. He served his country from 1966 to 1968 in the U.S. Army including a tour of duty in Vietnam where he served as a motor pool and aircraft technician. He worked on the farm for Donald Graves before and after his time in the service. He went to work at Eaton Corporation in Shenandoah, Iowa, in 1981 as a machinist and worked there until he retired in 2002.

Larry was a very outgoing person. He loved almost anything that had to do with the outdoors. Among the many things he enjoyed were hunting, shooting clay pigeons, pitching horseshoes, fishing, watching and talking about stock car races, cooking out and visiting with family and friends under the maple tree in the back yard. He particularly enjoyed the Lutz and Wallace family reunions during the summers when growingup. Larry was a life member of the Ralph Greer American Legion Post #49 of Rock Port He spent almost his entire life in northwest Missouri except for a brief period when the family lived near Indianola, Iowa, when he was very young.

Larry is survived by his daughters Jaclyn Lutz of Farifax, and Jamie Lutz of Blue Springs; four brothers, Keith of Fairfax, Richard and wife, Debbie, of Rock Port, Jerry and wife, Mitzi, of MArybille and Marion "Tiny' of Fairfax; a grandson, Trejan Criger; nephews Toby Lutz of Rock Port and Evan Lutz of Fort Collins Colorado; and nieces Caitlin Stewart and Carley Lutz, both of St. Joseph, and Jessica Lutz of Maryville. He was preceeded in death by both of his parents.
Graveside services and interment were Saturday, January 10, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at Hunter Cemetery, Rock Port, Missouri and were conducted by Larry Harbin.

Memorials may be directed to the Atchison County Memorial Building Foundation.

Military rites under the auspices of Ralph Greer American Legion post #49, Rock Port, Missouri.

Services under the direction of Minter Funeral Chapel, Rock Port, Missouri.
