Richard "Tip" J. Kingery, age 80 of Duenweg, Mo. passed away Thursday October 18, 2007 at his home. Richard was born on August 5, 1927 in Montrose, Il. to John and Vela (Jackson) Kingery. He worked for Vickers for thirty-five years as a welder retiring in 1985. Richard entered into Maritime Service under the US Coastguard October 18, 1944, discharged December 1947. Service included sailing around the world and receiving the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Pacific ribbons as well as the Victory Metal. Richard entered into the US Army January, 1949 and discharged November 10, 1952, serving the 17th regimental team, 7th Infantry, receiving the Japanese Occupation ribbon with Silver Star, good conduct metal, South Korean Presidential Citation and Bronze Star, attaining the rank of Staff Sargent. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 534 and a member of Calvary Chapel.
Richard was married to Ruby Beckett, she survives of the home. Additional survivors include, one son, John Kingery and wife Marilyn of Duenweg; two grandchildren, Johna Pugh and husband Travis, Jeff Kingery and wife Missy; four great grandchildren, Greg, Elizabeth, Isaiah and Emily; four brothers, John Kingery and wife Pauline of Effingham, Il., Don Kingery and wife Doris Montrose, Il., Bill Kingery of Montrose, Il., Max Kingery and wife Linda of Mattoon, Il.
