Graveside services for Lou Ellender Chapman, 77, West Plains, were Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Chapman died at 5:37 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, in Ozarks Medical Center. She was born March 25, 1932, at Lawrenceburg, Ky., to Calvin Thomas and Lena Pearl Cox Edington. In 1951, she was married to Jesse Ray Chapman, who preceded her in death on Jan. 5, 1988. Mrs. Chapman was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church. She is survived by seven children, Daren Chapman, wife, Jeannie, West Plains, Darrell Chapman, wife, Connie, Lexington, Ky., Richard Chapman, West Plains, Kevin Chapman, wife, Brenda, Alton, Mo., Yvonne Pruitt, husband, John, Mountain View, Mo., Lana Bales, husband, Ed, West Plains and Denise Havens, husband, Randy, state of Arizona; 16 grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents; husband; two daughters, Lisa Jenkins and Dora Ellen Chapman; three brothers; and three sisters precede her in death.
