Lillian May, 98, Holly Springs, died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at Trinity Mission Health and Rehab of Holly Springs. Born May 2, 1909 and a longtime resident of Burnham, Mo., where she retired as postmaster after 11 years of service and Willow Springs, Mo., where she retired from Conway Winters Shoe Factory after 20 years of service. Survived by son, Gerald McClanahand (Lynn), Blue Springs, Mo.; daughter, Virginia "Ginger" Valentine (Glen), Hernando; grandchildren, Jan Novotny (John), Biloxi, Miss.; Scott Mills (Tiffany), Farmington, Minn.; Melanie Zollinger (Randy), Woodburn, Ind.; and Angie Jamison (Craig), Overland Park, Kan.; nine step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 19 step-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Elmer McClanahand; son, Roy McClanahand; parents, J.C. and Sarah Agnes Vantrump; brothers, Robert E. Vantrump and Charlie Vantrump; granddaughter, Kathy Jo McClanahand; and daughter-in-law, Norma Joyce McClanahand. In lieu of flowers, the family recommends a donation to The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the charity of the donor's choice.
