Funeral services for Hubert Edmond Easley, 91, West Plains, were Monday, April 20, 2009, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Easley died at 3:53 p.m., Thursday, April 16, 2009, in Ozarks Medical Center. He was born Dec. 17, 1917, at Bly, Mo., to Ruben Edgar and Ellen Miranda Morgan Easley. On Aug. 22, 1946, he was married at , Ark., to Fern Irene Callahan. Mr. Easley had a great love of country, having served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He proudly displayed the flag throughout his life. Before his retirement, he worked as a lineman for Howell-Oregon Electric Coop. Mr. Easley was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1828. He loved the outdoors, enjoying gardening and fishing. Mr. Easley was a devoted husband and father who loved spending time with his family. He was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Fern Easley, of West Plains; two daughters, Pat Ford and Barbara Peterson, husband, Danny, both of West Plains; three grandchildren, Derrick Blackburn, fiancee, Seree, of Joplin, Mo., Angie Garner, husband, Jimmy and Jason Peterson, wife, Rachel, both of West Plains; six great-grandchildren, Kayla Kelley, Emily Wood, Brady Peterson, Ashton Garner, Ethan Garner and Lawson Peterson; and several nieces and nephews. His parents, stepmother, Pencie, four sisters and three brothers precede him in death. Burial was at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post #1828 or National Parkinson Foundation and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
