Oliver Loren "Sonny" Schoettlin, 60, son of Theodore Schoettlin and Lorene Spears Schoettlin Coats, was born Feb. 8, 1946. He died March 12, 2006, at Lester E. Cox Medical Center South in Springfield.
In 1970, he married Jane Jenkins. They had two children.
Mr. Schoettlin was a truck driver for various trucking lines and an avid golfer. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Rams and the Cardinals.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Teddie Sue.
Surviving are his wife of the home at Cabool; daughter, Julie Killian of Calico Rock, Ark.; son, Scott Schoettlin of Orange County, Calif.; two stepbrothers, Bob and Don Coats; and three granddaughters.
Services are 2 o'clock (Thursday) at the Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home Chapel in Cabool. Burial with military rites will be in the Cabool Cemetery.
