Mrs. Margaret D. Baker, 40, died Saturday morning at her home, Route 2, Cabool, after a lingering illness.
She was a member of the Providence Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Earl; a daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Gillett, Houston; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Babbitt, Cabool; three sisters, Mrs. Opal Carpenter and Mrs. Dora Lane, both of Cabool, and Mrs. Jackie Aldridge Houston; a brother, Loren Babbitt, Houston, and a granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Monday in the Providence Baptist church with the Revs.Leland Horton and Claude Smith officiating. Burial was in the Cabool Cemetery.

Earl Amos Baker, 78, son of Lester and Charlotte Wheeler Baker, was born March 11,1913, at Rawlins County, Kan. He died July 4,1991, at Texas County Memorial Hospital.
He received his schooling in the Branson, Colo., area.
He married Margaret Babbit March 15, 1936, at Cabool. They had a daughter, Charlotte, born when the Bakers lived in Holdenville, Okla. The family moved to this area many years ago from Sapulpa, Okla., and lived in the Black Jack community north of Cabool.
Mr. Baker was a railroad employee and farmer. Early in life he joined the Free Will Baptist Church. In 1951 he was ordained a minister and for many years served as a pastor at several rural churches including Tyrone, Big Creek and Glad, Tydings, as well as the Cabool Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Baker was a member of the Providence Free Will Baptist Church near Cabool.
He was preceeded in death by his wife and daughter.
In 1960 he married Ethel E. Bandy at Tyrone, and for a number of years they lived in the Big Creek community. Because of failing health, for the last several years he resided at the Kabul Nursing Home.
In addition to his wife, of Houston, he is survived by two stepsons, Gary Bandy of Westgate, Iowa, and Danny Bandy of Houston; three sisters and two brothers, Merval Baker of Sand Leandro, Calif., Harry Baker, Janice Johnson and Bernice Scheller of Cortez, Colo., Lela McLain of Cabool; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
Services were July 8 at the Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home Chapel in Cabool with the Rev. Ocra Fletcher and the Rev. Delbert Gayer officiating. Burial was in Cabool Cemetery.
